Company History
Potamkin
Automotive started in 1954 when industry legend
Victor Potamkin opened his first dealership in Philadelphia, PA. Since
then, the family name has continued to be associated with automotive
excellence and has left a positive mark on the retail automobile
industry.
By 1970, Victor Potamkin owned three Chevrolet
dealerships which he subsequently turned over to his sons, Alan and
Robert. Throughout the 1970's, Alan & Robert ran successful
operations, and continued to look for innovative ways to expand their
father's life-long dream of being the best name in the business.
Applying the philosophy of "Power of Partnership", Alan & Robert
successfully continued expanding the business throughout the '80's and
'90's. In 1997, Alan & Robert consolidated their assets to create a
corporate headquarter base in Miami, Florida, featuring 10 dealership
locations and 40 franchises.
Since then, Potamkin Automotive has
more than doubled in size and continues to actively acquire &
develop dealership locations. With present day operations across the
United States in California, Texas, Florida, New York & Pennsylvania, Potamkin Automotive continues to be one of the nation's largest, successful & respected dealer groups.
